13-digit ISBN Bar Codes

As of January 1st, 2007, all barcodes on books must accommodate the 13 digit ISBN structure. The new ISBN-13 barcodes are very similar to the older 10 digit ISBNs, also known as ‘Bookland’ barcodes. Both the old and the new are EAN barcode types, with a 5 digit supplemental code. A supplemental code is usually the price of the book or book-like product. In US dollars, supplemental codes are prefixed with a ‘5’, then padded to a total of five digits. For example, a book price of $24.95 US would be expressed in the supplemental code as 52495. A price of $3.99 would be expressed as 50399.
UPCTools comes with ten different barcode fonts that print both full- and half-height barcodes, and with or without human readables (the digits below the barcode itself). Both the software Tool and our sample code calculate the necessary mod 11 check digit for ISBN-13 barcodes. To create one or a handful of ISBN-13 barcodes, simply open the Tool, create your ISBN-13s and paste them into your label or design application. To create ISBN-13 barcodes in batches, open your Excel spreadsheet, Access database or Crystal Report and call UPCTools to turn an exhaustive list of data into barcodes in a matter of seconds.

UPCTools License Types
UPCTools is $199 US per Single User License for Windows or Macintosh operating systems, $299 per Linux/UNIX system. A Single User License covers installation on one computer and never expires.
2, 5 and 10 year Site Licenses are available for UPCTools. Site Licenses cover unlimited in-company installations for 24, 60 or 120 months. A 2 year Site License is $595 US, a 5 year Site License is $995 US and a 10 year Site License is $1,795 US.
We also offer UPCTools Commercial Redistribution Licenses, which allow you to incorporate Azalea fonts or other components into your commercial product or service for resale. Commercial Redistribution Licenses are $2,500 US for a 5 year license term.
