ISBN-13 barcode software
As of January 1st, 2007, all barcodes on books must accommodate the 13 digit ISBN structure. The new ISBN-13 barcodes are very similar to the older 10 digit ISBNs, also known as "Bookland" barcodes. For you barcode nerds out there, the new ISBN-13 barcodes are GTIN compliant. ISBN-13 barcodes are an EAN-13 with a 5-digit supplmental code.
The supplemental code is usually the book's retail price padded to a total of five digits. A "5" is the first digit of the supplemental code if the price is US dollars. For example, if a book costs $24.95 the supplemental code would be 52495. If it costs $3.99 the supplemental code would be 50399.
