Code 39 (Code 3 of 9) is a popular symbology that can be scanned by almost all barcode scanners. Code 39 barcodes are commonly used for product numbers, part numbers, ID, inventory tracking, and asset management. Code 39 barcodes are alphanumeric and can include uppercase letters, the digits 0 through 9, and several math punctuation marks. Code 39 symbols can variy in length and typically require no check digit; an optional mod 43 check digit is available but rarely used.
All Code 39 barcodes begin and end with an asterisk (*) which is used as the start and stop character. To make a scannable Code 39 bar code just add an asterisk before and after your data, choose one of our Code 39 fonts and you’re done. If you're making only one or two symbols you can add the necessary asterisk manually. If you're making lots of them, use our plug-ins for Excel, Access, or Crystal Reports. C39Tools is $199 for a Single User License for Windows or Macintosh, $299 per Linux/UNIX system. A Single User License covers installation on one computer and never expires.
2, 5 and 10 year Site Licenses are available too. Site Licenses cover unlimited in-company installations for 24, 60 or 120 months. A 2 year Site License is $595, a 5 year Site License is $995, and a 10 year Site License is $1,795.
We also offer C39Tools Commercial Redistribution Licenses, which allow you to incorporate Azalea fonts or other components into your commercial product or service for resale. Commercial Redistribution Licenses are $2,500 US for a 5 year term.
