Code 93 barcodes are used in the electronics industry and other places where very small symbols are desired. Code 93 bar codes are compact and include not one but two check digits to insure accurate scans.
Code 93's character set includes A-Z uppercase, 0-9, the space character, and six other characters: - . / + $ % The four control codes are mapped to "a", "b", "c", and "d". These are often referred to as "$", "/", "%", and "+".
The "<" is used as the start bar and ">" for the stop bar. Code 93 bar codes include two check digits, referred to as the C and K check digits. To create a scannable Code 93 bar code symbol, format a string of the form: <1234CK> where C and K are the two check digits.
There are two ways to make a Code 93 bar code: using our bundled utility or from within your own application. The bundled wizard is for those making one or two symbols at a time. Use our free sample code if you will be calling our Code 93 font from within another application.
